Seller buys in 'Tiffany Co' fakes from China and lists them as possibly genuine - what to do?
Jul 10, 2012 08:48 PM

I've seen a seller that has now twice marketed Tiffany Co Silver 925 New York earrings as unwanted presents that she can't tell if they are genuine as no receipt etc.  Upon looking through her feedback the first time, she purchased the set from China for a whopping £1.99 and got over £19 for them... so she's doing it all over again.   I'm afraid this really bothers me (please don't shoot me down in flames) as it's a blatant rip off.  Is there anything to be done please?

Thanks very much.

Don't waste time with eBay, contact Tiffany's copyright department (google it) and give them the details.

I wonder if this is the same person I've seen doing this.

If so, I have tried to report her listings.

Sometimes ebay remove them, sometimes they don't.

The chinese sellers are very clever as they never ever mention the word tiffany.

My local jeweller tells me that Tiffany currently has a multi million dollar lawsuit out against ebay - for allowing people to openly sell fake items.

Thanks so much for all of your very helpful replies - I did a lot of studying on Tiffany & Co this evening so I know a little bit more now than I did earlier on!

In the time it took me to look up where to report and read up on fake jewllery, the seller changed their title to just 'tiffany & co heart earrings', but they are still counterfit so I assume my report will still count?

I'm not sure anything will become of this, but I would like her to at least stop importing goods to the UK for the purposes of ripping us off!

My thanks again :)
