Husband and wife sharing account

Husband and wife sharing account
Jun 21, 2012 11:50 PM

I set up my ebay account in 2003 and have used it just occasionally with some 80 transactions to date and a reasonable feedback profile.

Since getting married, my wife and I have used my account for some five years.

Because of seperate interests we have, we would like to have seperate accounts.

I imagine that this will mean a new account and starting afresh with another user profile?

Is there any way around this?

I do appreciate that the account we use is not really shared, but we have put effort into ensuring that we are reliable ebay users and it seems a pity to start from scratch.

Any advice / comments would be welcombe. Thank you.

Hi,

You can easily have separate eBay accounts attached to the same PayPal account.  My husband and I do that.  We also have separate bank cards on the same PayPal account.

You just need different email addresses for each account - so one of you needs to set up a new id with a separate email address.

Just remember to go into PayPal and hook up the new email address to the PayPal account (I think it's under the 'edit' tab).

Hi,

Just to add, once you have set up the new account, you can contact eBay to notify them you already have an established that account.  If that account is in good order, then you should avoid having the limits that new sellers have.  Link to do so on this page:
